Music venues are the lifeblood of the Australian music scene. So it is important that they build their climate resilience and help lead the way towards a greener music scene.

Our Green Venue Program supports venue operators and staff to implement positive changes to reduce their footprint - and rewards them for taking action.

GREEN VENUE GUIDE

Our free Green Venue Guide is a comprehensive overview on how to improve the environmental performance of your live music venue. Through practical strategies, tools and case studies, the guide provides a step by step plan to help improve venue sustainability through backline, energy, waste, food, and procurement practices.

You can download a screen reader-accessible PDF of the Green Venue Guide with alt text here.

Green Venue Certification

The Green Venue Certification program incentivises and celebrates venues undertaking positive change for the planet.

Participating venues are assessed for their action in key environmental areas such as energy, waste, food and procurement. Once assessed, venues will be published as a Certified Green Venue in our Green Venues Directory.

In 2025, the successful pilot of the Green Venue Certification in NSW saw 9 of the state's venues certified for their environmental action.

Expressions of interest are now open for all NSW venues, with the program launching officially in October 2025.

LEARN MORE AND APPLY

We’ve greatly benefited from Green Music’s knowledge sharing around energy, emissions and social impact. Highly recommend all venues to get to know their team and services. We owe it to our kids' future.
