SUPPORT OUR WORK
We’d like to say a massive thank you to our dedicated members and those who have recently joined to support our vision of a greener future. As a non-profit organisation, we rely on the donations of the community to reduce the impact of the music sector and create a greener cultural scene.
Contributing on a monthly basis provides Green Music Australia with vital financial security for our ongoing work so we can continue and expand our programs. Will you help create a climate-friendly music scene by becoming a monthly donor today?

GREEN MUSIC PRODUCT GUIDE
Green Music Australia’s Music Product Stewardship Alliance has united leading record labels, distributors, manufacturers, and retailers to reduce emissions and improve environmental outcomes. Together, they have created a free guide and cheat sheet for labels, distributors, and artists!
The alliance also revealed key findings on the environmental challenges of vinyl and CD manufacturing and distribution:
- 4.8 million CDs and 2.5 million vinyl records are produced annually in Australia
- 80% of vinyl is made offshore, leading to high carbon emissions
- Bio-Vinyl (low-carbon PVC) offers a whopping 44% reduction in emissions per record
- Jewel case CD packaging is 50 times more carbon-intensive than plastic-free alternatives
Find out more about the alliance and its findings.
The Music Product Stewardship Alliance is supported by the NSW Environment Protection Authority and the City of Sydney.
