The festival season is ramping up, and so is our presence at live music events – if you’re heading to Tame Impala or Jack Johnson, we’d love to see you stop by for a chat. We’ve also been making exciting updates to our Camping Buddy app, plus our annual fundraising event is taking place on Oct 22nd (save the date!). Read on for more details.

CAMPING BUDDY

Did you know that 50-80% of a music festival’s waste comes from the campsite? 

Camping Buddy aims to address this by helping festival-goers prepare, borrow gear from mates, or hire tents from the festival – reducing the last-minute panic-buying of cheap and unsustainable camping equipment. It can also be used to help plan for your own event!

If you’re heading to a camping festival or weekend away, sign up to Camping Buddy for free and let us know which festivals you’d like to see on the app.

SAVE THE DATE – GREEN MUSIC GIVING DAY 22nd OCTOBER

Our annual Green Music Giving Day will be taking place on Thursday, 22nd October. On this day, all donations will be matched by a generous giving partner. Last year, thanks to our supporters and giving partner Sony Music Australia, we were able to raise just over $20,000 to support our goal of decarbonising the music industry (far exceeding our $10k target).

To get involved, save the date, keep an eye on your emails and make a donation on the 22nd Oct when your impact will go twice as far.

NEWS & OPPORTUNITIES

🍏 Do you work at a venue? Expressions of interest are open for our education program for venues that host live music, arts, or cultural events in NSW. The online workshop (4th Nov) and in-person workshop (17th Nov, Bondi Pavilion) are designed to help staff strengthen sustainability practices across waste, energy, and supply chains. Venues that serve food are strongly encouraged to register.

👥 Seeking warehouse tenants: are you a Melbourne/Naarm based organisation looking for collaborative, practical and clean warehouse space? Our friends at B-Alternative are looking for additional tenants for a warehouse hub in Melbourne's inner north east, with spaces between 50-200m² available. Contact [email protected] for more info.

🎸 MusicNSW’s Tone Shift is a microfund of up to $2,500 for women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming artists to purchase essential equipment, book studio time and access support for the creation and presentation of new work. Apply by 31 October 2026, 11:59pm (AEDT).
