Splendour artists join Byron beach cleanup

During Plastic Free July, musicians from Splendour in the Grass worked together with Green Music Australia and Positive Change for Marine Life to clean up Seven Mile Beach outside Byron Bay!

Artists getting their hands dirty included Áine Tyrrell, Luke Henery of Violent Soho, Tay Oskee, Sahara BeckEmma Bosworth, and The Cutaways.

2435 items of rubbish were collected in just one hour (most of which were plastic), highlighting the need to reduce the use of disposable items. Once you’ve been involved in a beach clean up, you never see a plastic bottle in the same light again.

“Eliminating everyday single-use items such as coffee cups, drink bottles and straws is one of the easiest and most beneficial steps we can make to create a change! We just need the right people out there setting a good example and showing how easy it can be”

Zoe White, Positive Change for Marine Life.
