Some big news from the Green Music family! After 10 years with Green Music Australia, seven of them as our leader, we will be farewelling our CEO, Berish Bilander, who will step down in early 2027.

Over the past decade, Berish has stewarded our organisation with passion, skill and immense care. Among the many things he achieved, he:
- Spearheaded the Australian chapter of NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET, rallying some of Australia's biggest artists to make climate and the environment an election issue.
- Launched Sound Country, giving musicians practical tools to support more sustainable touring, recording and releasing.
- Helped build and champion GMA's growing suite of practical sustainability programs, supporting the music sector to measure and reduce its environmental impact.
- Built relationships across the music and environmental movements, bringing thousands of artists, venues, festivals and music fans into the fight for a liveable planet.
- Scaled the #BYOBottle campaign globally, working closely with Jack Johnson's team to cut single-use plastic waste at festivals and shows worldwide.
On behalf of the entire GMA Board, team and wider community, thank you Berish. We’re so excited for what comes next for you and your family, and so grateful for the strong and resilient organisation you have helped to build.
With Berish stepping down, we’re now looking for our next CEO, someone to steer us into our next chapter, who cares deeply about people and planet and the role that music can play in a safer, greener world.
