A 4-year partnership for research and technology creation to combat the environmental challenge of campsite waste at Australian music festivals.
In partnership with the NSW Government, Queensland University of Technology, Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Byron Shire Council and Byron Parklands, we're proud to announce a 4-year research and IT creation project to help combat festival camping waste. The creation of festival campsite technology will aim to reduce the huge amount of waste produced by music festival campsites by facilitating alternative practices for camping at these events. We're working collaboratively to reduce landfill, educate festivalgoers and alter the behaviour of people regarding waste long after they leave a festival campsite.
Our new campaign will produce and promote a festival camping planning tool, co-designed by festival attendees, staff, IT professionals, and by engaging the larger festival management systems to provide complementary services.
This project has been assisted by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust.
