Green Music Australia - Australia’s peak body for music and the environment - is thrilled to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors: Bella Wiggs, Mandi McIntyre and Stu Watters.
The new appointments cap off what has been a landmark few years for Green Music Australia. From launching the much anticipated sustainability toolkit Sound Country: A Green Artist Guide, to piloting Australia’s first ever music industry training course, the Green Action Program, and the recent launch of festival waste reduction web-app, Camping Buddy, GMA is well equipped to support the music sector to take more ambitious climate action and inspire deeper cultural change.
Bella Wiggs is passionate about the power of music and its potential as an agent for change in the context of the climate crisis. A highly regarded climate executive, Bella has worked across media, finance, and extensively in political advocacy and philanthropy. Her previous roles have included Strategy and Engagement Officer at Groundswell Giving, Engagement Strategist at Environmental Leadership Australia, and Strategy and Operations Director at Coalition for Conservation. She is currently Co-Chair of Philanthropy Australia’s New Gen Network, Nexus Australia Committee Member and Director of the Wiggs Foundation.

Mandi McIntyre is an arts and cultural industries professional with two decades of experience leading programs and creative teams in Queensland, Tasmania, the UK and South Africa. She is currently the Program Director – Key Events with QMusic, producers of BIGSOUND and the Queensland Music Awards.

Stu Watters joins the board with over 30 years in the music industry, bringing together a diverse collection of experiences. Currently the Executive General Manager of the ALMBC (Australian Live Music Business Council), Stuart’s previous positions include the CEO of AIR, running QMusic, serving on the WIN Board, and managing Licensing, Business and Public Affairs for Nightlife.

Green Music Australia Board Chair, broadcaster, film-maker and author, Tracee Hutchison, confirmed the Board appointments at GMA’s most recent Annual General Meeting on Thursday.

Bella, Mandi and Stu join an accomplished Board of Directors including Chief Financial Officer at The Wilderness Society Jen Rowe as Treasurer, GMA founder and director of the Green Institute Tim Hollo, Djugun singer-songwriter and sustainability educator Nidala Barker, and award winning environmentalist and musician Jessica Panegyres. With deep thanks, Green Music Australia farewell outgoing board members Carla O’Neale and Marcus Seal for their years of service, and continued support. Green Music Australia members re-elected Board Chair, Tracee Hutchison, and Treasurer, Jen Rowe, for another three year term.
