We’re hiring! Naarm meetup, merch sale and more!
It’s been a big year. Even though it can sometimes feel like it’s “two steps forward, one step back” when it comes to climate action, we want you to know that from our perspective here working at the ground level - the momentum is real, and change is on its way.
We have really felt your enthusiasm this year as a community, and your support of our mission to use music’s unique power to drive change. So we want to start by saying thank you to everyone in our community - everyone who participated in our programs and campaigns, everyone who amplified our resources and messages, everyone who took steps towards making changes both in their personal lives or at their institutions and companies.
Here’s just some of what we achieved this year:
- Over 1000+ artists called for climate action through our NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET campaign - reaching millions of Australians
- We raised over $20,000 (!) on our first ever Green Music Giving Day
- We launched our Green Venue Certification program with nine certified venues across NSW
- We joined Billie Eilish’s tour - at her invitation - plus worked behind-the-scenes at venues and music festivals across the country
- We conducted meaningful research via our Rain, Heat, Repeat extreme weather report, with the help of over 1,000 live music attendees
- Our Green Guide on Physical Music Products showcased practical ways to make sustainable choices when manufacturing vinyl & CDs
- We proudly co-launched the Creative Climate consortium, forming Australia’s first national peak body for the arts and climate.
Music has a crucial role to play as we transition to a greener, safer future, and we feel emboldened and excited to continue this work in 2026. Thanks for your support, and we hope you have a restful summer break full of joy, nature and great music.
WE’RE HIRING!

We’re seeking a Partnerships & Communications Manager to champion our public voice and grow the collaborations that drive our impact.
Do you know someone (maybe you?!) that could help us build bridges across the music industry, government, philanthropy, and the climate movement — opening doors, shaping narratives, and helping secure funding?
If you’re a natural connector, a sharp communicator, and someone who thrives in fast-moving advocacy and culture spaces, we’d love to hear from you.
Check out the full job description below. Applications close on 7th Dec, 11:59pm AEDT
GREEN MUSIC MEETUP IN NAARM

Our final IRL meetup for the year is coming up very soon, on Sunday 14th December. Join us in Naarm/Melbourne for an afternoon of live music, climate talks and old-fashioned hanging out at Brunswick musical oasis Tempo Rubato.
Hosted by Green Music Australia’s Tim Shiel, special guests include Robin Fox (MESS), Chiara Grassia (Noisy Futures), Eliki Reade (A Climate For Art/3RRR), Damien Lawson (The Sunrise Project) and Sound Country leadership retreat alumni Noelani Petero.
Meet our team, make some new connections or strengthen existing ones, and learn how to plug in to the climate movement in your own way.
Attendance is free but you need to RSVP. Food provided courtesy of the VMDO.
P.S. Sydney - you’re next. 👀
