Green Music Australia is excited to announce that our flagship music industry training initiative, the Green Action Program (GAP), is now open for expressions of interest from NSW-based music businesses. The program is scheduled to commence in May 2024.

Launched in 2022, GAP is helping businesses across Australia to better understand, monitor and improve their environmental impact. GAP alumni include ABC Music, Unified Music Group, The Corner Hotel, arn (Australian Radio Network), Brunswick Ballroom, MusicNSW and more. 

The 2024 New South Wales program has been made possible with the support of the NSW Environment Protection Authority, the NSW Government through Create NSW, and the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its arts funding and advisory body.

The Green Action Program (GAP) supports music businesses to undertake a range of hands-on, in-person and online facilitated learning modules including:

• First Nations First - why platforming First Nations voices matters to sustainability 
• Policy and procedure development - how to embed climate action into organisational structures 
• Regulatory Environment - review of recent legislative changes including plastic bans and emission reduction targets
• Measuring impact - capturing and using data to set goals and identify and meet sustainability objectives
• Energy 101 - A walk-through onsite energy audit at a live music venue
• Creating tailored environmental and social impact reports 
• National and international case studies of best practise
• Climate leadership - gaining skills to lead operational change and achieve stakeholder approval
