Music Vic Best Practice Guide

Greening Music – a best practice guide

We are absolutely delighted to say that Green Music Australia has a chapter in the latest Music Victoria Best Practice Guidelines, setting out what can and should be done clearly and simply for everyone – and we mean everyone – in the music scene in Victoria.

We want to thank Music Victoria for asking us to contribute to this indispensable resource this year, and invite you to read it and pass it around to people you know across the music scene.

As we said in the chapter:

From energy guzzling lights to car travel and flights, from plastic waste to throwing out almost new strings and batteries – the music scene has an outsized environmental footprint that needs to change.

Just as we have a responsibility to protect musicians, staff, crew and punters from injury, we have to play our part in protecting the environment (after all, there’s no music on a dead planet). With a few simple changes we can make a big difference by reducing our footprint and showing others what can be done.

Read the Best Practice Guidelines here, and share them with people across the industry!
